November started to improve as it moved along despite what was a very tough start to the month. No, I don’t think that things are going to be especially good come next year, but letting this project take my mind off things from time to time has been very helpful. And I was able to not only get #WarComicsMonth finished (more or less–I still am reading a book that I’ve been reading almost all month) and am getting this particular post up the first week of December, I’ll say that I’m in better shape than I was.

Speaking of which, I did the annual Thanksgiving Weekend sale at my LCS the other day and walked away with about 30-40 books overall, some of which I’ve already read and reviewed here. Like I said in a prior post, it’s one of maybe three days I consider “exceptions to the rule” when it comes to this project because everything is so cheap and is always in less-than-great condition, so they’re disposable if needed. I’m still considering a “no buy” policy for next year (except for new comics) as I work my way through everything I’ve got left here. And I’m also working my way through refining my queues and lists.

We put up the Christmas decorations this weekend, so I’m once again doing the spending that comes with gift giving, but also looking around to see just how. much. stuff. we. have. It’s kind of crazy, and I’m hoping that maybe as we get through December and some of that stuff is “out” (because it’s been displaced from shelves by Christmas decorations), I’ll be able to take a look at a bunch of it and get rid of some of it.

And also … well, it would be nice to just have the next three weeks of work go by without too much to bother me, and I can enjoy the few weekends we have left in the year. I’ll definitely be back at the beginning of January with all the reevaluation done as well as a Pop Culture Affidavit podcast episode.
