The Uncollecting Update September 2024

As always, let’s start with the numbers …

Physical Comics: 85 (20/105)
Digital Comics: 0 (436/464)
Trades/Graphic Novels: 2 (0/2)
Books: 3 (96/107)
Movies: 0 (177/180)
TV Series: 0 (63/63)
TV Seasons Watched: 0 (115/115)
Podcast Episodes Remaining: 126

It’s October 13 and I’m finally writing this entry. That’s how backed up I’ve been with things.

I should probably also note that the numbers–at least the numbers remaining–are way off because I went to the Baltimore Comic-Con in late September and last weekend went to the Friends of the Library sale for my local library and bought a pile of used books. I’ve been burning through a few of the ones on my shelf in addition to a number of the comics I bought while I was at the con. I probably will have some sort of “omnibus” review post later this week for the #HorrorComicsMonth books and something similar for next month when I bust out the war comics I bought (some EC war reprints and the entire late 1980s Blackhawk series).

Otherwise, we’re in the point of the school year where work completely takes over everything, I fall way behind, and I try my best to catch up and not completely burn myself out. Which is really hard to do and I don’t know for how many years I can sustain it. I keep reminding myself to take a breath every once in a while. It doesn’t always help.

What does help?

Uh … can someone tell me because I seem to just flop down in the living room chair and nod off in front of something or doom scroll until I look up and realize it’s close to 10:00 p.m. That’s unless the Mets are putting me on the edge of yet another nervous breakdown, which they’re going to be doing tonight starting at 8:15.

Anyway, I know this isn’t much of an update. Perhaps I’ll have a little more to write about when I’m not looking around to see stacks of unfinished everything.
