I probably should have wrapped up #FantasyComicsMonth with reviews of the books I read, but all that was left was a pile of Groo comics and I don’t need to review them. Groo is honestly one of those perfect comics because each issue is a standalone story, the art is always perfect, and it’s always fun. So it was a real treat to find a few more of them at the Baltimore Comic-Con.
Speaking of which, my episode is out now and I had a great time. I will say that one side effect of going to the convention is that my count of comics has been completely thrown off. So, at some point I am going to take my shortboxes, sort things, and then update my list. What’s on this post is an inaccurate total of what is left in the piles. But I’m still tracking and still plugging away at what’s here, diving into October’s #HorrorComicsMonth, which you’ll read about as we go along for the next few weeks.
TV and movies remain slow because we’ve been picking up new seasons of current favorites as well as sports. I keep telling myself that I’m going to make time to watch this stuff and yet … it’s been a slow enterprise. Oh well.
But this time of year is always a bit tough because I am overrun with work and am trying really hard to get my balance all worked out between these hobbies and my workload. Plus, there’s life outside of hobbies and work. But I am looking forward to shifting into fall and October. Hopefully by the time I hit the last couple of months of the year, I’ll have things sorted out a lot more.
