As always, let’s start with the numbers …
Physical Comics Read: 3 (98/261)
Digital Comics Read: 0 (471/471)
Trades/Graphic Novels Read: 4 (6/14)
Books Read: 0 (110/125)
Movies Watched: 7 (171/194)
TV Series Watched: 1 (55/58)
TV Seasons Watched: 1 (99/105)
Podcast episodes remaining: 156
Okay, so this is my second attempt at this point because WordPress decided to freeze on me and ate my entire first draft. So it’s going to be a lot shorter than intended.
These numbers are a little off because I read and watched a lot that wasn’t on my list. But as you know, these things happen because the muse takes you where the muse takes you (in a sense). Still, I blew through a ton of podcasts during each day and have done my best to get the most relaxation out of each day as I can. That was the goal, even if it flew in the face of any idea of a productive summer. Then again, who cares if I don’t have a “productive” summer? What’s “productive” anyway? I figure that I’ve earned my rest.
We’re approaching the time of year when my mentality has to shift. Or at least I have more structure to my days. But I’ve become more and more focused on working within my contract hours instead of giving my employer too much unpaid labor. Yes, yes, I realize that there are times when I will wind up doing that extra work out of necessity or a deadline, but when you really think of it, I’m at the stage in my life and career when I just don’t have to come in on an off day or stay late or … whatever. It’ll get done at some point.
So I’ll be starting year 19 of my teaching career and moving toward completing year five of this blog/project. This will be … interesting.
